Wise Quotes - BE WILLING FOR GOD TO USE YOU

Have you ever felt you're too old or too young to do something? I certainly have and it's never been any beneficial other than being a set back. See, the moment you think you 'CAN'T', you psychologically set a boundary for yourself.

And in the case of a believer, age is never an excuse not to do something. Whether young or old, everyone can serve. You can start where you are in serving the Lord. God simply asks you to do what you can. Colossians 3:23 says 'Whatever you do, do it whole heartedly, as to the Lord and not to men.

There is a retirement age set for old folks in my church and usually at that point, it is said that the Pastor, Elder or whoever is retiring is relieved of all church activities. Though they are relieved of church activities, they still do play a role in the church. Wise counsel and advice are usaully given by these ex- teachers. They also help guide and direct in most of the church dealings since they would have a much in depth knowledge. Some go on to helping with charitable causes as well as organising other programmes for the younger ones.

Thier example is a reminder that there is no 'use by date' on our earthly lives. Scripture doesn't designate a retirement age for believers. But there is an end product for for service, one unrelated to age.

Ephesians 4:11-13.....And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

In describing the results of the efforts of pastors and teachers, Paul says their purpose is to equip the saints for the work of ministry. And that work of ministry, which is the job of all believers, can lead to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God. This task should keep us going for the rest of our lives.

We need to claim on God's sure promises and trust in His Word and He'll use our efforts to further His plan. Have a blessed day today.
