Wise Quotes - PRAISE FOR THE LORD'S MERCIES!

As we're in the Season of Thanksgiving, i have been in a praise mood throughout. For the next days leading to New Year, we'll be looking at ways we can show our appreciation to God for the great and wonderful things He's done in our lives.

Lets' look at Psalm 103 in detail:
This Psalm of David is one which gives God the praise for His Mercies. David acknowledged that God had been good to him. He started off by speaking to his soul(the inner man) within him which is the life. He addresses himself and all that is within him(The Soul) to praise God for all the good things He has done for him. Now i need you to take a moment and picture how David would have done this......would he have been standing in front of a mirror and speaking to himself? Would he have just imagined his inner man next to him and talking to him? Or he could perhaps had been in a deeper place of worship, lost in God's Love and started talking to himself? No mater how he did it, it's time now for you to take a moment and reflect back on everything God has done for you and give him such praise as he deserves. Coming to this realisation gives you a deeper sense of God's Love and your worship to HIM flows out of that.

David's praise focused not just the good things God did for him but also everything he didn't deserve which God overlooked and still blessed him with; He forgives our sins, heals our diseases, redeems us from death, crowns us with love and compassion, satisfies our desires and gives righteousness and justice.......these are all the blessings we receive without deserving them.

The list goes on with God's uncountable blessings. It's the end of the year and if you feel as though you have nothing for which to praise God, go through this list and know that just as God did for David, He is always giving us such undeserved blessings. No matter how difficult your life's journey, you can always count your blessings - past,present and future. Remember God is our Loving Father, very tender and compassionate towards us. The least we could do is to praise Him because really, what can we offer if not our praise. Have a blessed day as you dig deeper into this Psalm of David.

Praise for the Lord’s Mercies

A Psalm of David.

103 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The Lord executes righteousness
And justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the children of Israel.
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
And its place remembers it no more.[a]
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,
18 To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
19 The Lord has established His throne in heaven,
And His kingdom rules over all.
20 Bless the Lord, you His angels,
Who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.
21 Bless the Lord, all you His hosts,
You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
22 Bless the Lord, all His works,
In all places of His dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
