Wise Quotes - ARMOUR OF GOD 3

Day 3 on studying what it means to put on the full Armour of God.

Ephesians 6:10-18

Verses 10 to 14b -Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

THE SHOES OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE (v.15) - and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
Putting on the shoes of peace means the readiness to go into the world to proclaim THE GOSPEL - 'THE GOOD NEWS' to everyone you met.

Isaiah 52:7 - How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, 'our God reigns!'

Isaiah sums it all up perfectly in this verse. God says that the feet of those who bring good news are 'beautiful'. So imagine going to a house and you carry The Good News, it won't matter the feet of that person. This brings to mind the story of Jesus washing the feet of His disciples and its significant in a believers life.

The Old Testament shows references that the washing of the feet was the first act on entering the tent or house after a journey. The Orientals wore only sandals, and this washing was refreshing as well as cleanly. In the case of ordinary people, the host furnished the water, and the guests washed their own feet, but in the richer houses, the washing was done by a slave. It was looked upon as the lowliest of all services. 1

Jesus performing a simple act of washing his disciples feet during his last few hours on earth reveals not only his true character but the character he wants ALL believers to develop. Jesus' act of humility teaches so much and is so critical to the life of a Christian that he commands all those who follow him to do the same. 2

In contrast, the feet that shares the Good News to others and that which is washed by the receiver of the Good News seems to be an act of LOVE, which our Lord Jesus Christ wants us to show. It is a wonderful privilege to be able to share God's Good News with others; His news of REDEMPTION, SALVATION and PEACE.

Luke 4:18 also says the Spirit of the Lord is upon me because, He has anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor.....So we are to proclaim the gospel of peace everywhere we go and also be 'Ambassadors' of peace letting the world know of Gods Perfect Love.
Have a blessed day.
