Wise Quotes - POWER OF A PRAYING WOMAN 8

DAY 8 - LORD, RULE ME IN EVERY AREA OF MY LIFE.

Praying this prayer means giving in totally to God. Surrendering everything to His Lordship and direction. But as much as we love to say we surrender all to Him, why is it so difficult to do so?

Why do some people never seem to grow in the Lord? Why is it they go from one calamity to the next, never able to get beyond survival mode? Why do we seldom, if ever, experience the joy of the Lord? Spiritual breakthrough? A deeper relationship with Him? The release to step out in the area of their gifting? Why can't they move forward into the purposes and destiny God has for them?

The answer, I believe, lies in the word "surrender." They have not fully surrendered everything to God. They have not truly made Jesus Lord over their lives....this reminds me of a young man who is a worship leader and has a heart for God, yet his personal life seemed to be going down stream. He prayed and wondered why he was in that predicament, until the Spirit of God revealed to him that he had not totally surrender his life to the Lord. He was living his own way and doing his own thing.

Surrendering everything means being willing to say, "Lord, whatever You want me to do I'll do it. I say yes to anything You ask of me, even if it means dying to myself and my desires. I will give up the things of the flesh that I want in order to have more of You in my life. I will go to church when I feel like staying home. I will fast when I feel like eating. I will pray when I would rather watch TV. I will give when I would rather spend my money on myself. I will enter into praise and worship as my first reaction instead of my resort. I will do whatever You say so that I can please You and move into all You have for me."*

This attitude of surrender means putting God first and submitting to His rulership. And it makes all the difference in our lives. This is the kind of surrender The Lord requires. He loves us and wants nothing but the best for us so today let's begin to learn to give total control to HIM and see the transformation He brings to our lives.

PRAYER

Lord, I bow before You this day and declare that You are Lord over every area of my life. I surrender myself and my life to You and invite You to rule in every area of my mind, soul, body and spirit. I love You with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my mind. I commit to trusting You with my whole being. I declare You to be \Lord over every area of my life today and every day.

Enable me to deny myself in order to take up my cross daily and follow you {Luke 9:23). I want to be Your disciple just as You have said in Your Word (Luke 14:27). Help me to do what it takes. I want to loose my life in You so i can save it (Luke 9:23). Teach me what it means. Speak to me so that I may understand.

Help me to say yes to You immediately when You give me direction for my life. My desire is to please You and hold nothing back, I surrender my relationships, my finances, my work, my recreation, my decisions, my time, my body, my mind, my soul, my desires and my dreams. I put them all in Your hands so they can be used for Your glory. I declare this day that "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no loner I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me" (Galatians 2:20). Rule me in every area of my life, Lord, and lead me into all that You have for me.

Scriptures for Meditation

Luke 9:23-24
Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily,[a] and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.

Romans 14:8
For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

Colossians 2:6-7
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it[b] with thanksgiving.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct[a] your paths.

I Peter 5:6-7
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Wise Quotes - POWER OF A PRAYING WOMAN 6

DAY 6 - LORD, STRENGTHEN ME TO STAND AGAINST THE ENEMY.

We are all involved in a spiritual battle with the enemy who will never give up. Even though it is people who do evil things to us, we have to keep in mind that it is our ultimate enemy, the devil, who is behind it. "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). Even when we are being attacked by a person, recognising who our real enemy  is will be the first step in standing strong against him.*

Many times I here people ask the question " I am a good person, so why am i always under attack? Well the answer actually lies in your question. The enemy attack you because you are a good person and he attacks anyone who loves God and lives in His way.......There is a saying that 'A thief doesn't go to an empty house to steal' and so does the enemy also steal from a loaded vault. He would not be attacking you if he didn't see the purpose God has for your life.

Just as God has a plan for you, so does Satan. Satan's plan is to steal from you and destroy your life. "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy" (John 10:10). He disguises himself so that he doesn't look threatening, and he lulls you into thinking that you are not in danger. But he never takes a day off. He is constantly trying to see his plan for your life fulfilled. That's why you have to "be sober", be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (I Peter 5:8).*Here are five good weapons to help fight against the enemy's schemes......

1.The Word of God - This is the most powerful weapon.
2.Praise - When we praise and worship God, His presence dwells powerfully in our midst and the devil has to leave.
3.Obedience - Disobedience leaves the door open for the enemy to gain a point of entry and a foothold.
4.Faith - Faith comes by hearing and hearing of The Word...A continues act of hearing of The word builds up your faith.
5.Prayer and fasting - Prayer is a strong weapon against the enemy. Fasting makes it even more so.

PRAYER

Lord, I thank You for suffering and dying on the cross for me, and for rising again to defeat death and hell. My enemy is defeated because of what You have done. Thank You that You have given me all authority over him (Luke 10:19). By the power of Your Holy Spirit I can successfully resist the devil and he must flee from me (James 4:7). Show me when I am not regonising the encroachment of the enemy in my life. Teach me to use that authority You have given me to see him defeated in every area.

Reveal to me any place in my life where I am walking in disobedience. If I have given the enemy a place in my protective armour through which he can secure a hook, show me so I can rectify it. Gird me with strong faith in You and in Your Word. Help me to fast and pray regularly in order to break any stronghold the enemy is trying to erect in my life.

Lord, I Know that in the midst of the battle I don't have to be fainthearted. I don't have to be afraid in the face of the enemy (Deuteronomy 20:3). Thank You that even though the enemy tries to take me captive to do his will, You have given me the power to escape his snares completely (II Timothy 2:26). Thank You that You have delivered me from him (Psalm 18:17) and You are my shield because I live Your way (Proverbs 2:7).  Help me to "not overcome evil with good" (Romans 12:21). Hide me in the secret place of Your presence from the plots of evil men (Psalm 31:20). Thank You that I will never be brought down by the enemy as long a I stand in You.
Amen.

Scriptures for Meditation

II Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

Ephesians 6:13-18
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

Proverbs 10:25
When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more,
But the righteous has an everlasting foundation.

Ephesians 6:10-11
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Wise Quotes - POWER OF A PRAYING WOMAN 7

DAY 7 - LORD, SHOW ME HOW TO TAKE CONTROL OF MY MIND.

As much as we're in control of our lives and specifically minds, we mostly give in to the tactics of the enemy and fall for his deceit. Several times i have had to over and over again find a way to get out of anxiety and fear. It is usually an unsettling feeling which can mess up my whole day. But as soon as i realise it's part of the enemy's scheme, i immediately speak out the Word to myself(mostly quoting Psalm 23 and Psalm 27) then follow on with some praises or worship to God. As I shared on earlier, Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God......by quoting scriptures to yourself, you are also hearing it as you speak(almost like you're preaching to yourself) and the more your hear, the more you build up on your faith in God.

The battle of the mind is not one to be taken lightly. A big part of standing against the enemy of our souls is taking control over our minds. As the bible says, we must learn to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Jesus Christ (II Corinthians 10:5).....This basically means by holding on to the truth that Jesus was obedient to the Father by agreeing to die on the cross to take away every pain, fear, anxiety, death etc so we shouldn't have to suffer. Mostly people have misunderstood this scripture and think it means by doing the right things to be obedient to God. Now think about this, who has ever set out to do the right thing by their own strength and achieved results before? No One can unless you accept the truth of Jesus' obedience and depend on That Word....that is what this scripture is asking us to do(I will go into this more in a later post).

We must learn not to entertain every thought that comes into our head. We have a choice whether to listen or not. If you have ever had thoughts that makes you physically weak, moody or even feel a tightness in the stomach, know that they are not of God.......the enemy brings thoughts into you mind like, 'What if i jump over that window', 'what if i crash my car' and so many other unthinkable thoughts which we are sometimes too scared to even share.....It is the enemy trying to to gain control of your mind.

We can overcome the lies of the enemy with Prayer, Faith and The Truth of God's Word. The enemy will try and steal God's Word from you by getting you to question God's Word. He will contradict God's Word but remember that certain thoughts may appear to you to be accurate, but when you hold them up next to God's Word, the lie is exposed.

Today choose your thoughts wisely. Regularly access your thinking and recognise where it's coming from.......sitting in church and thinking of the harsh words you're going to give that brother if they should be on your case after church is definitely not of the Lord. Rather than beat yourself up for having impure thoughts, tell the enemy to get off your brain because you will not allow your soul to be a dumping ground for trash. Tell him you "have the mind of Christ" and you won't listen to anything that is inconsistent with that (I Corinthians 22:16).*

PRAYER

Lord, help me to never exchange Your truth for a lie. Where I have accepted a lie as truth, reveal that to me. Help me to clearly discern when it is the enemy who is speaking. I don't want to think futile and foolish thoughts or give place to thoughts that are not glorifying to You (Romans 1:21). I don't want to walk according to my own thinking (Isaiah 65:2). I want to bring every thought captive and control my mind.

Your Word is "a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12). As I read Your Word, may it reveal any wrong thinking in me. May Your Word be so etched in my mind that I will be able to identify a lie of the enemy the minute I hear it. Spirit of Truth, keep me undeceived. I know You have given me authority "over all the power of the enemy" (Luke 10:19), and so I command the enemy to get away from my mind. I refuse to listen to lies.

Thank You, Lord, that I "have the mind of Christ" (I Corinthians 2:16). I want Your thoughts to be my thoughts. Show me where I have filled my mind with anything that is ungodly. Help me to resist doing that and instead fill my mind with thoughts, words, music and images that are glorifying to You. Help me to think upon what is true, noble. just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). I lay claim to the "sound mind" that You have given me ( 2 Timothy 1:7). Amen.

Scriptures for Meditation

Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

II Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Romans 8:6
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Ephesians 4:22-24
That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

Wise Quotes - POWER OF A PRAYING WOMAN 5

DAY 5 – LORD, TEACH ME TO WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO YOUR WAYS.

Our thoughts are not His thoughts and definitely not our ways His ways. God requires of us to walk according to His Word. A recent devotion i read quoted that 'God has put His reputation on the line by promising to perform every Word that He has spoken. Isaiah 46:11 also says, 'I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass. If God has decreed a condition over your life, you must fulfill it in order to receive His blessings.

This can be achieved by being obedient and disciplined. We must pray that God will enable us to be disciplined enough to do what we need to do and has been called to do. We all have one thing or the other with which we struggle with. You may be directed into spreading The Word but may fill inadequate to do so. But by obeying and seeking the direction of The Holy Spirit, it can be achieved.

Believe it or not, as women, we have been called on a greater part of life to be the helpers for our families......this is a harsh truth most women refuse to understand but once you accept that God made you in a unique way and He knew you would be the right person for the task, you joyfully embrace your place in the family setting and enjoy being the woman of your home. And by heeding to that role, you realise that each and everyday there is always a great sense of achievement in knowing your family has been blessed by your contribution......and guess what that is a blessing. *Here are ten reasons to obey God.......
1.We get our prayers heard - Psalm 66:18-19
2.We enjoy a deeper sense of the Lord's presence - John 14:23
3.We gain wisdom - Proverbs 2:7
4.We have God's friendship - John 15:14
5.We can live safely - Leviticus 25:18
6.We are perfected - I John 2:5
7.We are blessed - Deuteronomy 11:26-27
8.We find happiness - Proverbs 29:18
9.We have peace - Psalm 37:36
10.We have a long life - Proverbs 3:1-2

PRAYER

Lord, Your Word says that those of us who cause Your law will have great peace and nothing will cause us to stumble (Psalm 119:165). I love Your law because I know it is good and it is there for my benefit. Enable me to live in obedience to each part of it so that I will not stumble and fall. Help me to obey You so that I can dwell in the confidence and peace of knowing I am living in Your way.

My heart wants to obey You in all things, Lord. Show me where I am not doing that. If there are steps of obedience I need to take that I don’t understand, I pray You would open my eyes to see the truth and help me to take those steps. I know I can’t do all things right without Your help, so I ask that You would enable me to live in obedience to Your ways. “With my whole heart I have sought You; oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!” (Psalm 119:10).

Your Word says that “if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8).  I don’t want to deceive myself by not asking You where I am missing the mark You have set for my life. Reveal to me when I am not doing things I should be doing. Show me if I’m doing things I should not. Help me to hear Your specific instructions to me. Speak to me clearly through Your Word so I will know what’s right and what’s wrong. I don’t want to grieve the Holy Spirit in anything I do (Ephesians 4:30). Help me to be ever learning about Your ways so I can live in the fullness of Your presence and move into all You have for me. Amen.

Scriptures for Meditation

1 John 3:22
Whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

Psalm 84:11
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

1 John 3:24
He who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Luke 11:28
Blessed are those who fear the word of God and keep it!

John 14:21
He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.

Wise Quotes - POWER OF A PRAYING WOMAN 4

DAY 4 - LORD, HELP ME TO BE A FORGIVING PERSON.

The Word of God instructs us to forgive others their trespasses as He forgives us. Many women including myself have been through life with one resentment or the other......it is said that women hold on to past things more than men and it is rightly so as it's in our nature to hold on to things but when 'That Thing' is unforgiveness, it becomes a hindrance in our lives. And for us women who are married, i dare say we usually hold more anger or resentment towards our spouses most times....it is also said that one of the most painful things to do is forgiving the ones closest to you. Because you expect them to know better yet they hurt you the most......and like it or not you do the same to them.

When Jesus was asked by Peter how many times we should forgive one who offend us, Jesus replied, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.......Matthew 18:21-22. Hmmmm you do the math.....that is 490 times a day to forgive one who offends you. WOW!

I personally had some level of resentment towards my marriage in the past years and i asked God to help me let it go and also to be able to forgive on whatever the issue was. In the beginning it was very difficult to let myself go to say i choose to let go but with gradual honest prayers to God, i realised over time it didn't become an issue any longer.

"When we choose not to forgive, we end up walking in the dark (1 John 2:9-11). Because we can't see clearly, we stumble around in confusion. This throws our judgement off and we make mistakes. We become weak, sick and bitter. Other people notice all this because unforgiveness shows in the face, words and actions of those who have it. They see it, even if they can't specifically identify what it is and they don't feel comfortable around it. When we choose to forgive, not only do we benefit, but so do the people around us."*

The point is God wants you to forgive as many times as it takes. He wants you to be a forgiving person and there is a freedom that comes with forgiving that only God can help you with.......let this be your prayer today;

PRAYER

Lord, help me to be a forgiving person. Show me where I am not. Expose the recesses of my soul so I won't be locked up by unforgiveness and jeopardize my future. If I have any anger, bitterness, resentment or unforgiveness that I am not recognising, reveal it to me and I will confess it to You as sin. Specially, I ask You to help me fully forgive (name anyone you feel you need to forgive). Make me to understand the depth of Your forgiveness toward me so that I won't hold back forgiveness from others. I realise that my forgiving someone doesn't make them right; it makes me free. I also realise that You are the only one who knows the whole story, and You will see justice done.

Help me to forgive myself from the times I have failed. And if I have blamed You for things that happened in my life, show me so i can confess it before You. Enable me to love my enemies as You have commanded in Your Word. Teach me to bless those who curse me and persecute me (Matthew 5:44-45). Remind me to pray for those who hurt or offend me so that my heart will be soft toward them. I don't want to become hard and bitter because of unforgiveness. Make me a person who is quick to forgive.

Lord, show me if I have any unforgiveness toward my mother or father for anything they did or did not do. I don't want to shorten my life by not honouring them and breaking this great commandment. And where there is distance between me and any other family member because of unforgiveness, I pray You would break down that wall. Help me to forgive every time I need to do so. Where I can be an instrument of reconciliation between other family members who have broken or strained relationships, enable me to do that.

I don't want anything to come between You and me Lord, and i don't want my prayers to be hindered because I have entertained sin in my heart. I choose this day to forgive everyone and everything, and walk free from the death that unforgiveness brings. If any person has unforgiveness towards me, I pray You soften their heart to forgive me and show me what I can do to help resolve this issue between us. I know that I cannot be a light to others as long as I am walking in the darkness of unforgiveness. I choose to walk in the light as You are in the light and be cleansed from all sin (1 John 1:7). Amen.

Scriptures for Meditation

Luke 6:37
Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Proverbs 19:11
The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and His glory is to overlook a transgression.

Matthew 5:44-45
Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.

1 John 2:11
He who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Matthew 6:14-15
If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Wise Quotes - POWER OF A PRAYING WOMAN 3

DAY 3 - LORD, CLEANSE ME AND MAKE MY HEART LIGHT BEFORE YOU.

Repenting and confessing of ones has been a topic which most believers have argued about several times. I have come to realise that true repentance is when one intentionally set to guide their hearts, minds and ways in order not to fall. Yes sin is inevitable and just as robbery is a sin so is habouring resentment. But by focusing on Christ daily and "bringing your thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Jesus Christ," Your ways tend to align with His Word. You become more Christ-conscious rather than sin-conscious.

On the other hand, "Confessing your sin is to be seen as an idea of cleansing your heart not as a judgement that your heart is dirty, but as God's call for you to get completely right before Him so He can bring all the blessings He has for you into your life. See it as God preparing you for the important work He has ahead for you to do."*

There was a time when out of anger i blurted out to my husband that I am sure we will be separated by the time the kids leave home. He never said nothing but deep inside i knew it was a hurtful thing to say. Later down the line as i begun to pray to God to get intimate and closer to Him, the Spirit of God reminded me of what i had said. Immediately i felt a sense of remorse and i prayed to God for forgiveness and to cleanse me of anything i may have said or done which is a hindrance to my fellowship with Him and to my husband.......One of the things we don't realise is, failing to acknowledge our wrong doings before God stops our very own blessings from manifesting. So we need to regularly access ourselves and repent of anything which might hinder us from receiving such blessings.

PRAYER

Lord, I come humbly before You and ask You to cleanse my heart of every fault and renew right spirit within me. Forgive me for thoughts I have had, words I have spoken, and things that i have done that are not glorifying to You or are in direct contradiction to Your commands. Specifically, I confess to You(name any thoughts, words or actions that you know are not pleasing to God). I confess it as sin and i repent of it. I choose to walk away from this pattern of thought or action and live Your way. I know that You are "gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness" (Joel 2:13). Forgive me for ever taking that for granted.
heart"
Lord, I realise that You are a God who "knows the secrets of the heart" (Psalm 44:21). Reveal those to me if I am not seeing them. Show me any place in my life where I harbour sin in my thoughts, words or actions that i have not recognised. Show me the truth about myself so that I can see it clearly. Examine my soul and expose my motives to reveal what i need to understand. I am willing to give up meaningless and unfruitful habits that are not Your best for my life. Enable me to make changes where I need to do so. Open my eyes to what I need to see so that I can confess all sin and repent of it. I want to cleanse my hands and purify my heart as You have commanded in Your Word (James 4:8).
I pray that You will "have mercy on me, O God, according to Your loving-kindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin" (Psalm 51:1-2).  Lord, "Create in me a clean heart.......and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me" (Psalm 51:10-11). "Cleanse me from secret faults" (Psalm 19:12). "See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting" (Psalm 139:24). Make me clean and right before You. I want to receive Your forgiveness so that times of refreshing may come from Your presence (Acts 3:19). Amen.

 Scriptures for Meditation

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 3:21-22
Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

Psalm 32:5
I acknowledge my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord," and You forgave the iniquity of my sin.

Acts 3:19
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.

Proverbs 28:13
He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

Wise Quotes - POWER OF A PRAYING WOMAN 2

DAY 2 - LORD, DRAW ME INTO A CLOSER WALK WITH YOU.

In our quest in seeking the face of The Lord, alone time is crucial......In a previous post 'ALONE WITH GOD', i shared on the reasons why we need to be alone with God. In those moments of being alone with God we are refreshed, strengthened and rejuvenated. It is then we can see our lives from God's perspective and discover what is really important. That's where we understand who it is we belong to and believe in. The more time we spend with God, the more we get to know about Him.

We sometimes pray or worship and get short of words to use. Not that we don't know what to say but i guess we simply get short of words to say and it's that simple. God is much bigger and greater than anything or anyone we could ever imagine. No name can describe all that He is and all that He does. So God chose to show us who He is through the many different names that we find in the Bible. As women, He means something to us at different times in our lives.......In the times of chaos, He is our Peace and when we find ourselves feeling all alone, He is our Resting Place. Here are some of them to help us while praying. Many more can be found in His Word as you read;

Advocate          1 John 2:1
Bread of Life           John 6:35
Deliverer          Psalm 70:5
Eternal Life        1 John 5:20
Everlasting Father      Isaiah 9:6
Everlasting Light       Isaiah 60:20

Friend               John 15:15
God Most High     Genesis 14:19
God of Comfort   Romans 15:5
God Who Sees     Genesis 16:13

PRAYER
Lord, i draw close to You today, grateful that You will draw close to me as You have promised in Your Word (James 4:8). I long to dwell in Your presence, and my desire is for a deeper and more intimate relationship with You. I want to know You in every way You can be known. Teach me what I need to learn in order to know You better. I don't want to be a person who is "always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth" (2 Timothy 3:7). I want to know the truth about who You are, because i know that You are near to all who call upon You in truth (Psalm 145:18).

I am open to whatever You want to do in me. I don't want to limit You by neglecting to acknowledg You in every way possible. I declare this day that You are My Healer, my Delieverer, my Redeemer, and my Comforter. Today I especially need to know You as (put in a name of The Lord).  I believe You will be that to me.

God, help me to set aside time each day to meet with You alone. Enable me to resist and eliminate all that would keep me from it. Teach me to pray the way You want me to. Help me to learn more about You. Lord, you have said, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink" (John 7:37). I thirst for more of You because I am in a dry place without You. I come to You this day and drink deeply of Your Spirit.

I know You are everywhere, but I also know that there are deeper manifestations of your presence that I long to experience. Draw me close so that I may dwell in Your presence like never before.
Amen.

John 14:16-17

Luke 12:32
It is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

John 16:24
Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
